I know my short-comings.
I know that I tend to look at the world with rose-coloured glasses on, giving everyone the benefit of doubt, hoping a kind word here and there will lift someone's spirit. I fight hard to let nothing and no one wipe the smile off my face. I've been accused to living in a candy floss-bubblegum world inhabited by unicorns and pixies!!!! However, I always hung on to my ideals, my utopia where nice people win and they, the bad guys suffer a defeat.
But today, today they won.
I shouldn't have trusted. I shouldn't have opened up. I shouldn't have been so nice. I shouldn't have let them into parts of my life they had no business being in. I thought that their conscience would stop them from hurting me in any way, but then I always tended to over-estimate the goodness in people.
But we live and learn eh? It'll be difficult for me to not jump in heart-first, but I HAVE TO. It'll be difficult for me not to get involved, but I HAVE TO. It'll be difficult to accept what you did to me when you had no reason to do so, but I HAVE TO.
You leave me no choice, but thank you, for the life lesson. I guess that and the hurt come as a package deal.
Too tired to blog. Wish I was a baby and could just fall asleep irrespective of what I have to do and where I azzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Everyday life never ceases to amaze me!!!
There I was being all nonchalant and silly, without a clue of what was about to hit me.Out of the blue, I get a call from one of my students. Apparently, the hired help at his farm-house chanced upon a huge black pot when they were gardening. And you know what they found inside?? ........About 70-80 early American and French coins from the 1800s!!!!!!!! They got the coins valued and all of them are authentic!!!!CHA-CHING!!!Will try and get my hands on a few pictures of these treasures.
I think this incident automatically gets categorised under "reality is stranger than fiction"!!!!
NOWWW I know why the BMC keeps digging up all the roads in Bombay at random intervals!!! LOLOLOL.
I hate to say this, but Lady Luck plays favourites and I don't like it one bit!!! LOL. Thats it for today. Thanks for reading.

Yeah. After living in this city for a while, you develop a thick skin. You become immune to comments like these, and to life in general. A lot of people say that after living in Bombay for a particular number of years, you get genetically re-modified to never like any other place as much!!!! Which brings us to the question...
..Why EXACTLY do we love Bombay???
I mean, honestly *removes rose colored glasses* yes it DOES suck. It would take a brain-dead person to actually say that it doesn't have its faults. Bombay is, in reality, a large sprawling slum masquerading as a mega-city. Slumdog Millionaire was an gross exaggeration, but it wasn't THAT far away from the bullseye as we would like to believe.
I'm tired of standing up for my city. Tired of trying to explain what draws me to it, keeps me in it, appeals to me. Its like a boyfriend/girlfriend that your friends don't like. No one knows why you're with him/her. No one understands why you love him/her. Everyone thinks you can do better.
Well, all I have to say is........
....You don't know her like I do!!!!! And once you do....you can't help but fall in love!!!!:D :D :D
...I think one of the reasons everyone is excited about a New Year is cos they have new things to look forward to.
For me, other than a few mega weddings in my family and my ever-optimistic yearning for world peace, an hourglass figure and a super-cute guy, I think the movie scene looks really promising this 2011.
A few on my top priority list of must watches this year are:
(1) Dhobi Ghat (Aamir Khan's wife's magnum opus)
(2) Turning 30 (Gul Panag reloaded, I think its going to be the Indian version of Sex and the City)
(3) Gullivers Travels (featuring Jack Black, so yes there will be butt crack involved :P)
(4) No One Killed Jessica (More interested in the under-appreciated Vidya Balan than the comeback of Rani Mukherjee)
Even though I think I'll enjoy watching "Turning 30" with my girl gang, Dhobi Ghat intrigues me because Kiran Rao (or Mrs Aamir Khan if you will) strikes me as a smart cookie and everyone knows watching a movie is like taking a tour through a person's brain/thought process. So yeah, that should be fun, she looks interesting, cut above the rest blah blah.
And ofcourse, as always, I'm looking forward to exploring my city's sights and gastronomic delights even further. Stay tuned for absolute aam aadmi views and reviews!!! Thanks for reading!!!
